19th 20th 21st

Husband has been back and now gone again. Off to do some work up north somewhere.

So when he was back we ate only fish and vegetables mainly to get as many nutrients into him before he lives on chicken and chip takeaways for the next two weeks.

I have got out of sync with my month blog mission but hope to get back into it.
I snuck in a weigh in last night and lost .5 lb which takes me to 10stone 8lbs.

I’m not going to lie I was a little disappointed not because I thought I deserved to have lost more ( I don’t) but because I just like to lose more than that! But press on. I’m in a good zone diet wise at the moment and just hope hope and hope some more that it continues.

I’m struggling exercise wise to fit anything in at the moment which is bugging me. I’d really like to start jogging properly and enter a local park run eventually as a goal but what with no reliable childcare ( husband and his dodgy shifts) I am stuck. Annoying.

We didn’t do much today so it was a freebie day activity wise and I have started a deep clean/ Declutter of the house while husband is away. I’m going to do hopefully a room each day so as not to ignore little smiler too much play wise but it’ll probably end up being a bit of a room each day. He is high maintenance at the moment.

Foodie wise it might be a bit boring this week but I shall try and get back into blogging about it none the less. With only ten days left of the month it would be a shame not to 🙂

March 16th 17th 18th phew the hubbys away

…so me and little smiler have been pleasing ourselves. Sharing a bowl of porridge each morning. Having a good meal each day and then snacking the rest.

Husband doesn’t put demands on foodwise but there is always the pressure of making stuff which can then be portioned off for work etc etc. So its been nice to have a break from cooking and stuff and just do as we please.

We have had a trip to the zoo, surprise surprise, baby group..will I ever fit in there? Not that it should be anything about me!, and a sainsburys trip today where smiler was an angel..strapped himself into the trolley no less..what a star.

Normal blogging shall resume tomorrow. I did however made spinach and feta calzones today. Delicious but alas smiler doesnt agree.

I’m being semi angelic diet wise this week and I’m also trying a tip I read about wearing your workout gear to keep you in the zone. Seems odd but I do think its kind of working.

March 13th The seaside

Each morning I get up and see its a sunny day I’m grateful and then determined to use it wisely in case its the last one. Today looked good so to the seaside we went.

Me and little one packed our picnic, change of clothes, nappies, toys, mat, towel bla bla ( seriously how much stuff do children need!!) And headed to the beach.

We got there by 9.30 as its quite nearby anyway and we found a good spot. We were the only ones on the entire beach bar some dog walkers and joggers and it was lovely.
We threw stones in the sea, collected water, had a splash, made castles, washed our hands and then covered them in sand then washed our hands then covered them with sand then washed…you get the drift. This was hilarious apparently. We drew pictures in the sand, we buried our feet, we collected our stones and then had a well earned coffee juice and raisen break.

This lovely morning cost me the price of my petrol to get there. Free parking. Its the most beautiful seaside town. Really quaint and non tacky!

We came home and had a good sea air induced nap on the sofa together and then a good play in the garden this afternoon.

Food was leftover cheesy pasta for little one for lunch and fish fingers and beans this evening. Its been all about the play again today and it really has been lovely. Not one tantrum had and smiles all round.

Now to get thinking of what to do if its sunny again tomorrow.

March 12th A day of errands

Today was super busy errand wise.

To a car boot 50p entry and spent £1.70 on a book, a DVD and some oven gloves and apron for little smiler
To sainsburys to do this week’s food shop. £63 which horrified me but I bought fish and big amounts of olive oil and nappies and got a voucher for 7.50 off a £50 shop. I do notice which things are more expensive in sainsburys mind and so will think about how I will use that.
A few stops at the bank/ post box/ and aldi for husband to pick up a fruit tree.
Home to have a quick bite of lunch.
Out to take husbands car for a service.
To the zoo. It was deserted and beautiful weather.
To pick husbands car up again.
Home in the mad traffic.

We had baked salmon with chivey roast potatoes and broccoli.

In the evening we had macaroni cheese pasta.

It wasn’t a frugal day food wise I’d say but it was healthy and nutritious and little smiler ate really well so I don’t mind in the slightest.
